For Volunteers “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” – Aesop

How Can You Contribute?

Attleboro Public School District welcomes and encourages volunteers in our schools. Parents and members of the community can volunteer to assist educators in their classrooms or to support the school by volunteering, for example, in the Library/Media Center, or the Main Office. Often volunteers have specific skills which enrich the learning experiences of our students, however this is not necessary and all support is appreciated.

Volunteers who may have unsupervised contact with students are required to complete a Criminal Offender Records review prior to beginning their volunteer work. The Attleboro School Committee has a policy regarding this review. CORI permission forms are available at the Main Office of each school as well as at the Superintendent’s Office. A government issued form of picture identification is required at the time you complete the form giving the district permission to review your CORI record.

All CORI information is held in complete confidence.

Be a Parent or Teacher Representative in a School Council

Under the guidelines of The Education Reform Act of 1993, public schools must organize a school council to develop annual School Improvement Plans. This council is comprised of an administrator, parent representatives, educator representatives, and community representatives. This is a great opportunity for parents, educators, and community members to get involved in decisions and initiatives in Attleboro Public Schools. For more information on School Councils, see the panel on the right.
