Solar Eclipse Activities

March 1-April 8, 2024

On Monday April 8, 2024 there will be a total solar eclipse starting at 2:15pm and ending at 4:38pm. In this area almost the full eclipse (91% of the sun will be covered) will be able to be seen. Please see below for a list of activities to complete leading up to and during the event hosted by the Attleboro Public Library and the Attleboro/Norton YMCA. Community Viewing Party

The Attleboro Library, the Attleboro Public Schools & the Attleboro/Norton YMCA will host a Community Eclipse Viewing Party on Monday April 8 from 2:00-4:30 in the Balfour Riverwalk Park! All ages are welcome. We will have outer space themed games, activities & crafts and of course, the eclipse!

This program is weather permitting. If the weather is does not cooperate, please come inside the Library for activities.

Attleboro Public Library Programs and Events

  • Outer Space book displays

  • Indoor Storywalk in the Children's Room

  • Space puzzle on the 2nd floor

  • Eclipse selfie station

  • Planet & Space fact walk in the Children's Room for anyone 18 years & under (finishers can enter to win a prize!)

Bounce and Play: To The Moon
Gear up for the solar eclipse on April 8th by joining our astronaut training camp and don't forget a bounce in our bounce house! Adults do not ne ed to register, just children. Click Here for more information.

Give yourself the night off and treat your child to a supervised night of fun! Children ages 3 (potty trained) to 12 are allowed.

7:00 - 8:00 - Free play in Child Watch classroom

Our dinner menu is make-your-own english muffin pizzas, applesauce, and juice. Feel free to pack a (nut-free) dinner if you prefer that instead. Please inform staff if there are any food allergies at drop off.
