Health Screenings
All health screenings are performed in accordance with Commonwealth of Massachusetts regulations. Student's may also be screened at any time during the year at a teacher or parent's request.
Parents/guardians shall be provided with an opportunity to request, in writing, that their child not participate in the program. This request must be written each year and be specific to which screening you do not wish your child to participate. If screening results indicate the need for follow-up care by a physician, parents/guardian will be notified in writing.
Students entering Kindergarten are required by Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 71 and Section 57, to have a pre-school vision screening. Please contact your child's health care specialist for more information.
Vision Screening - grades 1-5, 7 and 10
Hearing Screening - grades 1-3, 7 and 10
Body Mass Index (BMI) - grades 1, 4, 7 & 10
Postural Screening - grades 5-9
Substance Abuse Screening (SBIRT) - Grades 7 & 9
