Violent Critical Incident
Purpose/Reason
An event that requires students and staff to follow ALICE protocol and based on the information given at the time, choose the best course of action for you and your students: evacuate, lockdown, or counter.
Examples
There is a person in the building who is actively hurting students.
Alert Signal
Initial alert may be variety of things:
- An announcement notifying exactly what is happening and where. 
- You may hear a gunshot, screaming etc. 
Staff Responsibility
Given the information you receive you choose what is best for you and your students. Evacuation is your priority but if it isn’t safe to do so you can choose to Lockdown or in the worst case scenario counter.
Student Responsibility
- Follow the adult’s directions. 
- Follow any directions given by law enforcement/first responders 
Post Communication
- Students and staff who evacuate should meet at the rally point. 
- Administration will send communication to families.
