Restricted Movement

Purpose/Reason

An event involving a single person experiencing a severe illness or injury that restricts the movement of other students.  These are often handled by trained school professionals and first responders. 

Examples

A student has a seizure.

Alert Signal

Announcement telling the staff that there is restricted movement in a specific hallway/location in the school.

Staff Responsibility

  • Classrooms in the area affected should shut their door and not let students leave the classroom.

  • Clear the hallway of anyone who is not involved in the incident and bring them to your classroom. 

  • Classrooms in the non affected area can continue class as normal.

  • If the incident is in your classroom remove the students who are not involved in the incident and follow the directions of the nurse.

Student Responsibility

  • Continue with class as normal.

  • Listen to the teachers directions
